Today’s Bodybuilder’s Abuse Of Steroids And HGH Makes Arnold Look Like A Choir Boy

In a society filled with health-conscious gym sharks, we would expect to see the streets full of buff muscular vein-popping athletes. However, such extreme levels of muscular structure can only be seen in professional bodybuilders and wrestlers. Is it that they know some secret forms of exercise that a common man at the gym doesn’t? The truth is that almost all bodybuilders use huge amounts of steroids combined with hours spent daily at the gym.Bodybuilders HGH

The interview with the Metabolic Doc

If you are wondering exactly how much steroids these bodybuilders take, the answer is staggering. Dr. Thomas O’Connor, MD, an internal medicine physician is a longtime participant and surveyor of the pro-bodybuilding landscape. Dr. Thomas O’Connor also known as Metabolic Doc was questioned to understand the number of steroids bodybuilders take in order to achieve their level of physical structure. According to Dr. Thomas, “The professional bodybuilders, yes, they do use up to 10 times the dose of steroids that a recreational man … who’s in the gym. The professionals do take it to a very high level.”

O’Connor used patient feedback from many current as well as former bodybuilders to estimate the steroids used by professional bodybuilders. He went further to explain how bodybuilders use steroids in a cycle with other performance-enhancing drugs. “There’s a bulking phase and cutting phase,” said O’Connor,“[Bodybuilders] blast and cruise. They’ll blast for eight to 12 weeks very heavy before shows. The cruising happens after the show. They won’t come off; they’ll lower the dosage, and they’ll cruise.”

However, simply taking steroids, strength-enhancing pills, and going to the gym is not enough to possess the body structure of a bodybuilder. As per O’Connor, any top pro bodybuilder must also own special genes. “I’ve been involved in this underground steroid bodybuilding, powerlifting world of performance-enhancing drugs for over 20 years,” O’Connor said. “The top professional bodybuilders, every single one, they have great genetics. You can’t give steroids to me and you. You can’t just say, ‘I’m gonna take drugs and have a professional body.’ I want to make that clear. These guys are genetic masterpieces.”

The Bad Side of Steroids

Although taking steroids may temporarily enhance strength and muscle mass build-up, taking steroids for a prolonged duration can do more harm than good. Bodybuilders take steroids every day for many years to compete with their counterparts. With increasing competition in the bodybuilding field, the use of steroids has also increased exponentially. In addition, bodybuilders are under the constant scrutiny of the media and need to be in shape throughout the year.

O’Connor even stated that steroids are not the only drugs that bodybuilders abuse to gain strength. “It’s not just steroids. It’s insulin, human growth hormone (HGH), clenbuterol, diuretics,” O’Connor said. “I would say the Golden Era in the 1970s, they didn’t use very much. Now, they’re doing upward of tenfold. The drug use now is off the chart on the recreational guy and the pros.”

According to O’Connor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is also known to have used steroids “used nothing” in comparison to the bodybuilders today. “He was a church boy—that’s why he’s still alive,” O’Connor said. “I’m telling you, this is an epidemic.”
