Often, the first person a patient sees when entering our hospitals, and the last person to say good-bye, is one of our hospital volunteers. Gilmore is fortunate to have such an active, enthusiastic group of men and women who contribute to the smooth operation of our hospital on a daily basis.
The Volunteers at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center are a significant part of our health care team. Whether you are a recent retiree looking to fill your time or a professional looking to give back, we will work with you to find an opportunity that will use your special skills to their fullest.
As a volunteer at Gilmore, you will enjoy many rewards. You will feel a sense of accomplishment, learn new skills, meet new people, make new friends and offer an invaluable contribution to your community.
Before becoming a volunteer, you will be asked to complete an application and participate in a personal interview. Once accepted, you will attend an orientation to learn more about the hospital and undergo training in your service area. While performing volunteer services within the hospital, volunteers wear identification badges and uniform provided by the hospital.
Volunteers at Gilmore generously donate hours of their time and of their talents to provide valuable services to our patients, their family members, and our staff and physicians. Some opportunities include, but are not limited to:
